The Acropolis, Athens

The Acropolis is a world-renowned historical site and is actually an ancient citadel. Located on a hilltop overlooking the city of Athens, it contains the remains of several ancient buildings of immense architectural and historic significance such as the Erechtheion temple, the Propylaia entrance and the temple of Athena Nike. Not to mention the most famous building, the Parthenon. This Doric temple dedicated to the goddess Athena is something that everyone simply must see and experience in person at least once in a lifetime!
