Ancient city of Corinth
This sacred destination is about 50 miles west of Athens, so be sure to make arrangements to check it out while on vacation. This ancient city had inhabitants dating back as far as the Neolithic period from 5000-3000 BC. For thousands of years, until the Romans destroyed it in 146 BC, it remained a major Greek city. Things to note in this ancient settlement are the Temple of Aphrodite, the Temple of Apollo and the Roman forum, as well as the sacred spring is located along the northern edge of the forum, near the Lechaion Road.
